actually pop tarts are quite nice. i like that the frosting is crunchy.
today the ym camp comm went all the way down aloha changi to recce the place for ym camp. big holiday bungalows with 7 rooms and an equal number of toilets. but they are dirty. sorry i'm really bothered by that since my house is always kept clean (not by me though). but i guess being away from typical singapore is a good thing. after youth prayer meeting we went down to ecp to join some adult cellgrp and CM for their bbq. :) COLOURFUL CANDLES. wheee we went night cycling. er actually not really. its just that we were cycling at ecp at night. my godsisters. :)

i'm so tired. yay that candice is finally coming down to visit me tmr!

i was busy the whole weekend. iHope youth conference on saturday for 13 hours, GDOP on sunday. i was on the verge of dozing off while checking the reports today (fortunately it was in softcopy)
i just got my access card today, and rightfully, i only have 5 working days more. thinking of working till the end of the first week of june but i've been looking forward to the end of the job.


when i was at the 4th level, i bumped into my exschoolmate, who's also working at fortis.

ok i'm going to make a rule. the people who are always there for birthday celebrations and whoever we celebrate birthdays for, (you know who you are) when it comes to your birthday, you have to decide where to go for dinner/lunch/party. if i have to decide, that means it's my birthday, and i'll get your presents!!!!!HAHAHHAA.

i'm listening to ong and leong podcasts right now. i still think it's very funny. i have been listening to it in the office the past two days.

today i went through a stupid report and had to try to tally it with the original. yeah in print, not on the computer. very frustrating. and i had such a hard time trying to find the corresponding amounts because they are all jumbled up. that's the worst task ever. EVERRRR.

usually when people make a call, they'll say
"hello, ____ (insert name here) please" right?
today someone in the office was making a call and it went,
"hello, bill please"
i thought it was pretty funny.
if i was on the other end, i'd probably go
"yes, that'll be $150. payment by cash or card?"

while checking about 200 pages worth of numbers today, it occurred to me that i could plug my earpiece into the CPU and listen to music. so i went to imeem and started listening to music while checking! :) it'll save me mp3 battery, and i am entertained while doing something boring. by the way, i don't know what exactly i'm checking.

quick entry i have to go sleep
HOP ON THE MUSIC MOBILE! :) this is the 156 bus i took yesterday. it was a nokia advertisement thing, so they changed the interior to look like this, complete with two lounge chairs, sofas, those circle chairs, and continuous MVs playing. it's like PIMP MY BUS RIDE.
dinner at the ship with candice's family and jolene. :) escargots, fish and chips and pasta.
spent alot of time at borders flipping through mr men and little miss books. they're so cute! and the mr greedy story is so funny! i like mr greedy, even though he's a pink fat blob. so cute! i didn't get myself the mr men book because i got something better, a jodi picoult book. :)
stayover at candice's. friendster browsing, slow video streamings,crunches on the bed, bright camera flashes (for the last two pictures, we were actually in the dark) and new york minute. lallala LOVE YOU 2!

just accepted offer of NUS sci.
hello if anyone out there is going to science also, pls let me know!
actually i am torn between sci and fass. i mean, i could have appealed to fass if i wanted to, since that's my 2nd choice. but i've confirmed acceptance already so i hope i made the right decision. the only tricky thing now is transferal,in the event that i don't get my choice of course.

i wonder why i'm going back to a science course. it's something familiar but i don't know if i can do well in advanced advanced sci (level up from As)
if i really stick with sci, it'll be 3 or 4 more years of bio, chem, lab expts, topics i fear the most, like redox, biostats. ughhh.
on the other hand, i doubt i write good essays anyway.
so what am i good at???
i've been trying to figure this out for the longest time. :( so far, nothing.

i was watching survivor earlier. in such a game, if it's between a million dollars and integrity, which will you choose? i think i'll choose the latter, not because i don't want a million dollars, but i think choosing the money over morals has worse consequences. i won't elaborate much but basically, respect and credibility are at stake. what one of the contestants said was true, "tell the devil, you can dangle a million dollar carrot in front of me, but this christian man's not for sale". think abt it :)

how my hamster looks like today. this is of course, taken from the better side. in the right ear, there's a digusting growth which bled the other day, leaving the fur around that area pink. i think it's because the hamster scatches it once in a while. my heart aches to see it in such a horrible state. it doesn't look weak and dying but it's no longer as active and happy, i can tell. but it's old, almost two years old. and theres a little growth on the nose too, like a huge pimple. :( although you look ugly now, i still love you truffle!

no shops selling chocolate
then we'll be divided into three groups of skin tones-white, milk, dark. (maybe i'll still be white. and i will start chomping on darkchoc people because i don't like white chocolate)

but if everything is chocolate, chocolate will just go back to being chocolate regardless of what you've done or will do to it. chocolate world will forever be an imaginary world :)

today i OTed for one and a half hours! (thanks sam for waiting around!)cos they were rushing a report of airfare expenditure. more OT means more pay, more pay means more money to spend in HK!

ok i'm really tired from waking up at 7 the past three mornings and sleeping late. yay i hope HG+muthu clan+soccer gang meet up soon! and the the class girls! wheeee. i miss you all, YOU KNOW!

now i will start counting down to the end of work. counting only workdays, i have 17 more days! by the weeks, 3 and a half weeks. sounds bearable!

yay today dance was much better!
compared to monday's class which was a mess. i mean I was a mess, not everyone else.
pop jazzzzzzzzzz (haha jazzzzzZZZZ) choreo was some slow song, slow songs are good.
could catch 90% of the steps, though i am far from pro, in fact i may have looked a little funny but never mind about that. mtv was okay too! :)
i still have to decide whether or not to sign up for membership before 14th.

first day of work at fortis today. it's BACK TO RAFFLES PLACE! hello again. i've gone one round and went back to bank admin. i don't have a card yet so i have to press the doorbell, i've no phone at my desk, no computer password yet because i spent the whole day doing filing of some 2006 invoices. :( oh yes and there are swifts! HORROR. i must have seen almost half of the many different kinds of swift messages. actually their filing system is quite messy. last time i did filing by the box, at fortis, they put their invoices in ring files so they have shelf after shelf of ring files. and when i open the files, i realise that some invoices aren't even in the correct place, they are all not filed according to date, only according to month. i'm quite disturbed by that.

now i shall talk about food. there's nescafe so i can make my own coffee, not take from coffee-making machine. once or twice, at abn, i tried coffee machine coffee+milk, tastes weird, from then, it was iceblended coffee. there are wafers and those rolls(i dont know what you call them) in the pantry (free snacks!)

after dance just now, JASMINE GAVE ME A LIFT HOME! as in jasmine DROVE me home. ahha cool! yay for passing your driving, my new driver! no lah kidding go buy your hyundai car.

whee i can't wait. i haven't taken a holiday since my A levels ended so i'm looking forward to a good break from singapore, church camp not really counted.

went for dance today, first time going for hiphop and street jazz classes. and jasmine and her friend vernie came :) actually intro and beginner levels are almost the same :/ i think my memory really can't take in two lessons of choreo. i come home i forget half of it. but when i go for one lesson it's ok.

my parents got so excited they decided to drive to and around NUS today. yay i'm going to start work at fortis soon, for a month! haha same department as where jasmine was. this month's pay will fund my july holiday to HK, and my shopping during church camp at one utama. i think that's all i can afford with 900+$.

i'm sitting on a mattress with my computer monitor on a chair and my keyboard kinda hanging from the table. it's quite difficult to type like that. the screen is in this position because i was watching movies online and got tired of sitting.

other than watching movies, i went to register for driving BTT today with sam. the earliest date is 9th july! that means i have about 2 wholemonths to study for basic theory! and i'll probably get my licence only next year.:( so much for planning to take btt in two weeks time. lol.

:) aunty julia just told me yesterday taht there may be an admin job at her office! and today i got an sms about a tuition assignment. but if i take that up i'll have to commit till the student finishes p6, which is next year. so i still don't know if i should take it up because uni life will be quite busy. unless i can find someone to take over after i start uni proper. decision decisions. :/

oh yes iwas taking 86 today, and i realised there's mad jacks and spizza at jalan kayu! haha and thats a 10-15 mins drive from my house.

the sole purpose of today's meeting was to clarify everything and to tell them that i do not wish to continue working for them.
regarding the roster, it still shows how disorganised and fickle they are. if they knew that they'll want someone who can work weekends, they should have told me straight up at the interview and not have me go through all this shit, only to have that turned on me now, saying that my colleagues think it's unfair that i don't have to work weekends. anyway if the company decides that i will work weekdays, the company will have the final call and not the sales team.

number 2, the break issue. yes she may have told me to be back asap (now you can say anything because i really don't bother about remembering who said what etc.) , but how am i to know that someone is hungry, someone has another appointment, and you all screwed up the pos system. even if i knew all those, she could have told me to take 30mins specifically. communication is key. if you can't communicate properly with me, you can't expect me to communicate properly with you either.

I haven't even worked with everyone there proper and they give feedback on me? how reliable is that? then they start picking on stupid things like me thinking my shift on thurs was AM shift when it was actually PM shift. all along my impression was that i'm going to work both morning shifts. so i went for pm shift anyway what. the most interesting thing is, i don't talk to my team mates?! i don't know if this was exactly what was said but roughly this. it's the other way around rather. who're the ones who stick in their "we're from the same poly" group? i'm not going try and sound like i'm so comfortable with my teammates when i'm not. and you know how having to introduce yourself, your school and where you stay etc. more than 5 times? sucks.

ermmm, actually i'm lazy to comment any further. i've already told them what i wanted to say, just that i didn't bitch in front of their faces like i planned to because that'll make me out to be one too, which is bad. so, whatever. although they told me that "if you want to continue, you're always welcome to", i told them that i don't like the way they operate and run the company (not so much the review and their opinions because these things happen everywhere) and no i don't want to continue. so that's the end of the job, i will have nothing more to do with prestat. if you happen to pass by the shop and want to have chocolate, just look interested, then ask for a sample, and leave. pls DNB. if one day you become rich and want better chocolate, do not go there either. :P but i did learn a little from this, how to use a POS, how to get customers to buy more, how to pick the biggest piece for someone who buys only one piece of chocolate, sales tactics. with this, i close the chapter. and now i will try to find an admin job! so i can save more money for the HK trip in july (disneyland, dimsum, krispy kremes and shopping! :D)

actually compassvale sec called me this morning at 7AM! regarding relief teaching for today. stupid me was sleeping and didn't bother to answer because i didn't recognise the number. i kinda suspected it was a school because no one else is up so early. haha it was only in the aftnn that i returned the call. of all days they choose to call me today :( i hope sometime soon some other teacher will be on MC.

yay i'm going to sign up for driving on friday! :) (ya i hope this actually gets done) i still don't think i'm prepared for this but i'm going to have to ppick it up one day anyway, might as well now, so i can start driving myself around wheeeeee.

i'm quite tired now (and plagued with DAY ONE of the 28 day cycle-which spoils everything) so i'm still considering going for dance today. luckily i didn't pay for this, so i can still afford to not make full use of the unlimited pass. but it all boils down to me being lazy. i just don't feel like going out of the house and travelling to EP and back. heheheh they should open a branch at sengkang :) i feel like sleeping now.

you know, after the attempt at sales and retail, the attempts to work in f&b (no actually just icecream), and applying for relief teaching jobs, i realised that admin is one of the best holiday jobs ever.

compared to the people in sales/f&b, people in the bank are much nicer IMO. although you hear about office politics and all, most of it wouldn't involve junior or temp staff. during my 3 freaking long months in the bank, there was only one misunderstanding. in prestat, it took less than a week! the bank didn't make a big fuss over me taking so long to update the broker list, they didn't tell me my attitude sucked because i took more than an hour lunch everyday.

admin is definitely less restrictive. i could do things like read the newspaper, drink ice-blended coffee at my desk after lunch, make milo every morning, take snacks as and when i like, take toilet breaks as often as i want, take an hour or more for lunch, leave on the dot, not put on makeup if i didn't feel like it, pick my outfit everyday, sit more than i stand.

and the best thing is, admin pay is the best! for the long, tiring hours and what you put yourself through, working in sales or f&b is not worth it.

so i may find another admin job after all, for another month or so, although it'll bore me to death again. like my parents say, large companies are more reliable, the contract that they draw up is also more specific. really, UNION JACK co, you should try revising your whole contract thing because having such a poorly drawn up contract (with some grammatical errors) doesn't reflect well on your ENGLISH company.

ha, i can't wait for tomorrow! remember, because i'm going to meet kashdfkjhaliseh and give akshflkashdf a piece of my mind. plus i'm going to get back my transport money.

i don't know why what we plan nowadays always doesn't happen. anyway today was spent lazing at home again, then going down to a showflat and ikea with my parents. meatballs and chicken wings and daim cake and fish! :) plus free flow of coffeeeeee.
