my ym movie screening problems are almost solved
i have to study for BTT, which is next monday.
i am supposed to bake cheesecake.
speaking of cheesecake, i was discussing cheesecake with janice just now. then i opened the fridge, behold, a slice of tcc oreo cheesecake!
then there's the problem of the hall offer.
the + and - 's of staying in hall
factors: time, monetary cost, company
+- saves me a whole lot of travelling time. sleeping in later ...
- widen the social circle.
- in the larger scheme of things, more outreach opportunities
- easier to meet up for cell (which doesn't really count because i'm still in the same school, i can just stay back later)
- the experience. staying away from home, hall life!
- only have to commit to staying for one/two sems
- spanking new hall
- i may not get this chance again
-
- time spent travelling = time i potentially spend participating in suppers, games, activities
- not free of travelling costs either
- won't get to meet up with other people (eg YMers) on weekdays
- what if i can't clique with the people (trust me, some of them have already displayed their weird characteristics)
- costs WAY more than travelling to and fro everyday. it all adds up to 1576.35 for the first sem and 1081.1 for the second. which is an average of about 1300 per sem. travelling with hybrid concession costs a third of that.
- worst is, if i don't like it there, i'll be stuck
i hope i don't have to choose between this and food sci. i would much rather have the latter please. i haven't replied the "hall buddy" yet (at least mine seems normal) but i have to decide by tomorrow and it's tough and i'm spending way too much time thinking and fretting over this. i want tomorrow to come quickly.
oh yes and i went for the medical checkup at NUS yesterday. if you haven't gone, there's nothing much to it, they just take your height and weight, stick a litmus-like slip into your urine, take blood pressure, have a short checkup, take 5sec to take a chest x-ray, and you're done. all in an hour. i expected to wait forever but i guess the t-z of the sci fac is very small/everyone goes in the aftnn/there are too few girls
went jogging with jeri yesterday. i'm such a pig, all i do is laze around at home, sleep for hours, take lunch (which just transforms into flab because i sleep after i eat), watch tv. the last time i ran (before yesterday) was during ycomm camp 13th june!
since i have nothing better to talk about, let's countdown to my HK trip!
5 days!
