so tired.
i'm going to sleep soon, catch up on sleep :)
there's school tomorrow and we'll be going on a field trip to kent ridge park (the war place where battles took place and therefore making our campus haunted. hhahha nah kidding; also the run place with long hilly winding roads and quite nice "hilltop" view) for biodiversity module. so far, i cannot for the life of me catch what they're say in lectures because every so often they'll start spouting foreign and speaking in the genus and epithet manner, so everything is like in streptococcus, e.coli, askfalkhus ashfkahus microbes language. sometimes i wonder how long they take to memorise that and how many names they actually know. wahhh i'm so not going to specialise in microb. (microbee! hahh small bee. b <- this is also small b)

in fact, i don't have a good feeling about any module so far except maybe for stats because at least i understand lectures. errr okzzzzz

and i haven't exercised in a longggg time. ARJGHJGJHASGFJKHG how to exercise everyday end at 6 (except monday). jeri faster get well then we start running in school or something i'm feeling so unhealthy, and sluggish now i need more adrenaline yaaaaaaa. or anybody want to run with me on tuesday friday? :/

got home at 11plus, cos CG ended at 10, and it's a long way home
nobody to fetch me :(
which reminds me, driving lessons.
(0r get a bf who can drive hahahhah :P but more likely driving licence)

being the christian student:
1. God in every aspect
2. prioritise

it's hard to be a christian student, when it's so easy to fall into the trap of being a student in school, and a christian outside school, or worse still, neglecting the 'christian' part. it's so easy to lose yourself in the overwhemling flood of tutorials, reports, tests, readings, and mugging lifestyle. this is where prioritising comes into play, and i must learn how to be a good steward of my time, plus place God in first place. it has always been a struggle to do so, so...easier said than done, but i must try.

gahhh i was so tired the whole of today.
my stats TA has such a strong indian accent i was trying to figure out what in the world she was saying when she was saying "poor". and tutorial only lasted about 35mins. chem tutorial on the other hand, took more than an hour. i still don't get ring flipping, someone give me the 3d model to build pls. i prefer tutorials in jc, so much more lively, because you know everyone, and you won't have your tutorial situated in some ulu corner of the faculty.

haven't read my soci text yet, and i'm sleepy. ok goodnight

had chem lab lesson today.
the lab is nothing i've ever seen before. wait let me recall how the labs in tj were like. ok
each student has one fumehood, and there are so many apparatus...
and there are weird people from idontknowwhere shouting for someone to keep the flask (yeah it was really weird i think that guy was a little mad, probably because they get cooped up in the lab for too long)
i can't imagine myself doing this for the next few years

so far science fac and sci modules have been okay. i can stick with this for now, but i don't know what job oppotunities there are in future. research? no.
so what?

meanwhile, i have a lot of tutorials to complete, and LAB REPORT, and prep for worship and get a movie for movie screening. so many things to do.

mind cafe and shopping

then it was mind cafe with the uni cell. we had a blast! :) we played taboo and ugly dolls and some other express yourself game. we screamed a lot while playing ugly dolls but that couldn't beat how another group there kept shouting "3! 3! 5! 5! 7!" taboo was the funniest lah, me and abbreviation (hahah i really heard some PH1101 thing, no kidding. see this is how cors scars you), "bimbotic people.... SAM!", "that smelly thing... DARRYL!" ahhaha, sam lim and bust, the "elite'' engineering people. food was good. :)

ugly dolls. i think they're ugly in a really cute way! UGLYUGLYUGLY :P

wooohooo it's the end of the school week for me.
i feel so accomplished today, for having sat through almost 8 hours of lectures.
slept almost the whole journey home.
come next week there'll be tutorials :(
i must start reading my readings :P and doing my tutorials and reviewing lectures.

and sleep early.
right now my sleeping hours are verryyy irregular.
phlegm phlegm phlegm. urghhh

i have my bio and organic chem texts already. yay to 2nd hand books and the savings. to get soci, geog and stats ones

got my tutorial times slots already. i got the slots i wanted except for stats, so now i have a wednesday 10am slot. grrr. and i don't know anyone in my tutorial class.

anyway i'm still coughing :( :( :( if this was JC, i would gladly skip school for a few days.

went for sci vcf's cg today! not bad it was quite fun :) our wednesday cg is mega. there are almost 20 people. i will go mad leading a cell group that big.

kiddy ride and island cremery

video in the next post was taken at serene centre on sunday after our icecream! we decided to go try out the kiddy ride! it was super fun. 3/4 way through the seat jerked, which explains why we all made noise at the same point. sam couldn't fit in it hahaha. then halfway there was this cute little eurasian boy and his sister and they wanted to play so we let them. so cute!

i spent today coughing like mad and blowing out lots of thick phlegm/mucus. :(
which led to nosebleed, again.
i also got myself two thick organic chem books, going to get the biodiversity one on wednesday, the rest probably at the 2nd hand book fair. textbooks frenzy!

the event wasn't very well planned. firstly, the registration booths and goodie bag booth were together, causing some confusion. then there was the route. we ran the 4km mass run route for while, then somewhere along the way we went offtrack and ran on the 10km route for 8 points. so about 10 of us mass runners ended up back in school, and the officials told us we were on the wrong route. the road marshals didn't even tell us! they should have known we were mass runners and not 10km runners cos we didnt have the tag. moreover, there were supposed to be guiding footprint stuff on the ground but we only saw one of them early in the run. ahhh :( i was wondering for the longest time where the treetop walk and heritage trails were. aiya next time tell your marshals to direct properly, and put up more signs please. thanks. so we got drenched in the end. it's a good thing we didn't run back to the park.

but ok lah the whole event wasn't that bad. at least i got a whole lot of things for $5. hahaha. :P

peter pan(g) is darryl's friend. this is a really funny misprint. :P

and these were taken in school on tuesday.

i just realised that when on an overhead bridge, to your right you'll see bright white headlights, and on your left you see red lights. nice! next time try turning your head from side to side to see that.

runny noses and mucus are really annoying. a sore throat on wed&thurs, a runny nose on fri & sat. yeah i actually brought a piece of tissue paper for my run. everyone is falling sick and i think it's the school air. there's something illness-inducing in the air there. or maybe it's just psychological. to everyone who's sick now, get medicine, rest, and get well soon!

today i was my free day but i went down to school specially to pay for runNUS registration. before that jeri and i were in the library but we didn't really study, we just ended up talking and looking at photos and leaving to explore campus.

my arm is aching because i've been carrying the laptop around the past two days.
i'm going to build arm muscles this way! :)

uni cell dinner on friday at vivo's carls jr. samlim is so unglam. i can blackmail him and alchoy hahaa. the guy who ate the hokkien mee. lol

the first day of school. my first lecture on stats only lasted 40mins because it was an introductory lecture. i feel so cheated, i had to wake up at 6:15am to listen to an introductory lecture?! so we had a 1hr 15mins break after that. michelle winnie (jasmine+sam) and i met up for lunch at the new arts canteen! all the queues were sooo long. anyway yay for really familiar faces in this new environment. jasmine i hope your phone has warranty! if not very wasted. after that we visited the library and the big co-op which sells almost everything and anything.

on sunday, the huge praise and worship service.

the simpsons

just got back from watching the simpsons movie with sam and ed.
the show is really quite funny but it's a wth/whatever type of funny.
and they keep playing the spiderpig song over and over again. hahha
spiderpig lol

its back to school tomorrow! after 9 REALLY REALLY LONG months without notes, textbooks, lecture pads, stationery, waking up at 6am (which i will have to do every monday and thursday from now till november)
ok look on the brighter side, everyone can meet everyone for lunch almost everyday so i can start looking forward to breaks.
and i'm sure God has a purpose for everything (including faculty, course, me waking up at 6am)
2 hour lectures. ahhhhh

ok bye i'm off to mess up my biological clock more by taking a nap now.

photoshop brushes are so much fun. the butterfly thing so pretty right! :)

errr but i don't really know how to use the other functions yet. never mind i'll figure them out slowly

cors is such a chore
CORRRRSSS abolish it!

i finally got a module, although it's not something i thought of taking
but i really don't have much of a choice. all the clashes and high bid points, tell me, what to do.
so i have 1biodiversity, 1 stats for life science, 1 basic organic chem, 1 making sense of society, 1 southeast asia (geog). this geog one is so unpopular all i had to do was bid 10 points and i'll bet i had 9 points refunded. hmm i may drop the geog one if i find some better and available module in round 3a.

the readings are up on IVLE already. woah i tried reading some ecology stuff, so boring. i hope the printed text is more interesting. haha as if. but i'll mug hard. everyday go to central library and study.

anyway we had meeting today, and we tried speaking to each other over msn although we were sitting at the same table.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YIHUI! :)

had dinner with the uni cell. we keep going for dinner but we haven't started on any bible study. everyone is in hall except for... everyone's in oxford except for.... :P whatever man. yup but i'm really thankful for this bunch. i love both my cells! ahhh cells. :/

hahaha at least i got one of two. let me tell you that the bidding for the singapore studies module was really crazy. i think the minimum bid was 300. i put 230! thats already a lot to me now. i couldn't have outbidded that anyway. but it was really frustrating from 12pm-1pm because the minimum bid points kept increasing like no one's business so we kept going so how so how wnat to continue bidding or not? (i know those who aren't in nus probably won't know what i'm talking about but you will, soon enough) so we considered taking some other module, but this is where it's the most frustrating, either the timetable or exam date clashes with the modules already allocated. so now i have to go through the whole trouble or searching for an OKAY module to take, not a WOW THAT LOOKS INTERESTING one. i don't understand, what's so good about this system? imagine, i have to go through (hopefully) 7 more such biddings. woahhh. oh but when i chalk up enough points, i'll be one of those nuts who put bid a few thousand points at one go. :P

then i escaped CORS at 2pm and went out with jolene. yay shopping! i got a laptop case and it's purplishpink. :) i think post-GSS sales beat those during GSS! we had lunch/dinner at ichiban boshi! ohh sushi! i know we just had jap food overload on sunday but jap food always look good, can't help it :)

and i bought snacks to stock up at home. prior to this there was nothing much to munch on. am eating the ritter sport cappucino now, tastes great! actually they all do. 4.20 for two at cocoa trees, go stock up too! starbursts 2 for 9.80 (the big pack)

yeah i was just thinking about this song on the train.
